Harry Williams

Harry Williams

Harry Williams was born 1970 in West Jefferson Ohio, where he bought his first camera straight out of high school. Harry studied at The Ohio State University earning a BA in Photography in 1994.

In 1999 Harry sold all his possessions and traveled extensively throughout Southeast Asia to experience new cultures different from his Midwest upbringing. These travels allowed Harry to fine tune his craft.  The focus of his work quickly became to capture everyday life through street scenes, markets and portraits.  As Harry's photographic style became more refined and he preferred to immerse himself in the same surroundings as his subjects versus shooting from afar. Most notably in 2001 Harry traveled to Sapa in Northern Vietnam, where he meet members of the Black Hmong Hill Tribe.  Harry lived and photographed this tribe during various trips from 2001-2003.
